Balsam Christmas Trees

Balsam fir is a very traditonal and still highly popular Christmas tree sold throughout North America. Similar to Fraser fir, Balsam fir is a North American tree native to most of eastern and central Canada from Newfoundland west to central British Columbia and across the northeastern United States from Minnesota east to Maine, and then south from the Appalachian Mountains to West Virginia.

Fraser fir is by far the most popular variety of Christmas tree sold throughout North America.
Fraser fir is closely related to Balsam fir (Abies balsamea), of which it has occasionally been refered to as a subspecies.
